wefoundalaska asked: nee-sa what's your dream job? is it more writing or more radio or more mtv or whut?
this is the worst question (and as a writer, kristen, i’m sure you can empathize…or not! haha).
i want to start off by acknowledging that by the time i graduate in a year-and-a-half, my first job could very well be something that doesn’t even exist yet. my whole career could be something that doesn’t exist yet. technology, y’all.
when i’m on-air, i want to be a radio personality. when i blog, i want to be a blogger or online reporter. when i produce i want to produce or be a sound engineer or something. and i love love love writing for broadcast (which i discovered relatively recently), whether tv or radio. although i hate being that person who does all the work and gets no credit for it. i’m too proud and self-centered. i don’t like the idea of writing content for other people to use.
anyway, the stupid part is that in all probability, i’ll end up having to do all those jobs at once and get paid as though it were only one of them. recession, y’all.
so the simple answer is i have no idea what my dream job even is. i’ll probably try to weasel my way into the radio industry, but whether i end up on-air, behind the scenes or in corporate is a question that i have yet to resolve.
basically, i want a job - any job
